Miss Wiseman immediately took to Twitter to reveal the news, posting a picture of the ecstatic couple on the beach toasting with champagne.

Rochelle wrote: 'Its official Marvin proposed 2me 2day,wanted 2 tell u b4 some1 else did! SO excited 2 b Mrs Humes. x' (sic)

Writing from the official JLS Twitter account, Marvin added: 'Happy New Year everyone!!! So everyone hears it from me... Rochelle and I are engaged!! Party time tonight! Have a great one..All love..Marv x'

'Thank you so much for all the love,' he wrote as congratulations flooded in. 'We are the happiest 2 people in the world. A perfect start to 2012.This year is gonna be massive. Luv ya! Mx'

The couple, who first began dating in early 2010, are on holiday in Antigua.

It was reported back in July that Marvin was planning a romantic New Year's proposal after he booked an appointment at Tiffany and Co.

Marvin and Rochelle began dating in early 2010 after meeting a number of times at awards shows and concerts, and went public with the romance in March.

After a four-month whirlwind relationship, former S Club Juniors member Rochelle moved into the west London home Marvin previously shared with bandmate Aston Merrygold.

But their happiness was short-lived, and by November the pair announced they had gone their separate ways.

They blamed work commitments keeping them from spending time together, despite their best efforts. Humes once flew from London to LA just to spend a few hours with his girlfriend while she was working Stateside with The Saturdays.

Shortly before their brief split, Marvin said in an interview: ‘I wouldn’t be with her if she wasn’t The One. I don’t believe in being with someone if you don’t believe they couldn’t be that person.'
But just two months later, they were back in each others arms.

The high-profile couple kept their rekindled relationship under wraps for a few weeks, but it wasn't long before they were out in public and moving back in together.

In a recent interview, Rochelle said of the split: 'We’ve been together two years and I think everyone has a stage when something like that happens. It’s not a big deal.

'We got back together because I think we realised that we didn’t want to let go of what we had.'

Rochelle recently revealed that an ovarian cyst left her fearing that she would not be able to have children in the future.

For now, she is looking forward to becoming an 'aunt' to her pregnant bandmate Una Healy's. With a baby on the way and now both Una and Rochelle engaged, The Saturdays are quickly becoming a family band.
